Out of the Maze

"The maze you are trying to solve in your life is not outside, it is inside you."

We are dreaming of a life that we have been trying to create.  This is what I call "becoming."  When a certain external condition is satisfied, then I will be at peace, finally, I will be able to relax, I will take everything lightly, I will be content.  Ahh, I finally arrived ...

But who has put that condition on you?

Only when you get there are you going to be okay?

We have done that to ourselves.

In the journey of self-knowledge growth means ‘unlearning’.

We have conditioned ourselves to suffer.

I recently met a person who had lost a close relative few days ago. During the meditation we were doing he began to expand to the point of feeling unconditional love and right at that moment he decided to open his eyes and cut the experience.  At the end, when we asked him what had happened, he said “I am going through a mourning process and when I started feeling so happy, maybe happier than ever before in my life, I realized that it was not correct, how can I be happy if I have lost someone so important in my life? I should feel sad.  Otherwise, it seems it just doesn't matter to me.

The key to liberation is in us, it’s in self-knowledge, but it’s our conditioning that tells us that we should not feel happy because we have not achieved a certain recognition; or because we don't have the perfect family; or because we have no money or property; or because we are not like this or like that. By believing in this auto-imposed conditionings, we live in constant struggle.

Today more than ever we must remember that happiness is not in an external situation or in what you have come to have and you can lose • happiness is an internal choice • when you realize that you HAVE EVERYTHING to be happy here and now if you just decide to take that step.
